Dr. Tawfik is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative & Pain Medicine.

Lauren joined the Tawfik Lab as a postdoctoral research scholar in October 2019.

Amy joined the Tawfik Lab in September 2021 as a postdoctoral fellow.

Janelle Siliezar-Doyle is a graduate student in the Neurosciences PhD program.

Gabriella Muwanga is a graduate student in the Neurosciences PhD program and joined the Tawfik Lab in August 2020.

Michelle joined the Tawfik Lab in February 2024 as a postdoctoral scholar.

Richard joined the Tawfik Lab as a resident researcher in January 2023.

Laura joined the Tawfik lab in September 2023 as a visiting scholar.

Dr. Brewer is a postdoctoral fellow in the Tawfik lab.

Megan joined the lab in February 2024 as a full-time lab manager and research assistant.

Ahmyah joined the lab in 2023 as a research assistant. She is finishing her Bachelor’s degree in BioMechanical Engineering at Stanford Univeristy.

Sabrina joined the lab in January 2023 as a full-time lab manager and research assistant. She is now an MSTP student at Stanford.

Akila joined the Tawfik Lab in August 2021 as a postdoctoral scholar.

Cal joined the Tawfik Lab in June 2021 as a full-time research assistant. He is now a PhD student at Stanford.

Dylan joined the Tawfik lab in May 2021 and is a senior at Washington & Jefferson College, majoring in Chemistry.

Juhee joined the Tawfik lab in June 2019 and is an undergraduate at the University of Georgia studying genetics.

Aysha Gardner joined the Tawfik Lab as an undergraduate research assistant in June 2020. She is now working in healthcare consulting in San Francisco.

Ryo joined the Tawfik Lab in June 2019 as a visiting scholar. He has returned to Shimane University, Japan, where he works as an anesthesiologist and emergency physician.

Claire joined the Tawfik Lab as an undergraduate research assistant in January 2019. She is now working at the Stanford Center on Longevity.

Shaogen joined the Tawfik Lab as a Postdoctoral fellow in March 2019. He moved on to a new position at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to study neuroinflammation in Alzheimers diseases.

Huaishuang is an Orthopedic surgeon from the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University (China). He is now back at his home institution pursuing Orthopaedic Surgery residency

Nolan graduated from the University of Oregon in 2016 with a degree in Biochemistry and after 2 years in the Tawfik Lab, is now an MSTP student at the University of California at Irvine.

Fiona graduated from UC Davis and after 2 summers in the Tawfik Lab is pursuing further research at UC Davis.

Emily joined the Tawfik Lab as a Clinical Research Assistant in May 2018. Emily is now a PsyD student at University of Colorado

Thomas graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Biology and is now at University of Colorado pursuing MD/PhD degrees.

Elena joined the Tawfik Lab as an undergraduate research assistant in 2016. She is currently an anesthesiology resident at UCSF.

After a year as a Visiting Scholar in the Tawfik Lab, Yoshinori is now back working as an anesthesiologist and pain clinician at the University of Toyama, Japan.
