Lauren joined the Tawfik Lab as a postdoctoral research scholar in October 2019. She received her PhD in Neuroscience at Case Western Reserve University focusing on uncovering the transcriptional programs that drive serotonergic neuron axonal projection development. In the Tawfik lab, Lauren is excited to pursue clinically relevant questions in the pain field using a mouse model system with the goal of better understanding the mechanisms behind pain.

Outside of the lab, Lauren enjoys horseback riding, skiing/snowboarding, scuba diving, and playing team sports.
