Ángel (he/him) is a rising Senior at Stanford University majoring in Human Biology with an area of concentration in Biotechnology and Medical Device Technology. He joined the Tawfik Lab in June 2021 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Ángel is currently exploring the applications of mechanical engineering, behavioral studies, and computer science to further analyze the mechanisms and applications of pain in mouse models. He plans to pursue orthopedic surgery and biotechnology in the future with a goal of developing a device to help improve the lives of as many people as possible.
Outside of the lab, Ángel enjoys playing any kind of sport, especially Ultimate Frisbee, playing Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and spending quality time with friends and family.
