Shaogen joined the Tawfik Lab as a postdoctoral research scholar in 2019. He previously worked at Rutgers University studying the molecular biology of pain.
In the Tawfik Lab, Shaogen focuses on studies in the mouse model of complex regional pain syndrome using molecular approaches such as RNA-Seq. He intends to develop his academic career in the pain field and hopes to unveil molecular targets that can be translated into clinical interventions.
Outside of the lab, Shaogen enjoys making Chinese food. And he is interested in developing some gadgets that are very useful in biology labs.
